Landscaping with Potted Vetiver
Vetiver makes an interesting landscape specimen plant.
Here (above) is one outside my window along with a kangaroo, a spineless Prickly Pear and a Dragon Fruit vine.
I also grow Vetiver in pots filled with water. I use Azolla, a water fern, on the water surface to keep mosquitoes from breeding. The floating Azolla also adds texture and a rich green colour to the landscaping.
I'm using these pots of water growing Vetiver with Azolla as a companion to shade and cool down the opening to my work area. The Vetiver blocks radiated heat while the breezes pass through its leaves to enter the house.
That's the ambience theory anyway.
